This clinically proven, FDA approved injectable was created to soften frown lines caused by repeated muscle contractions (facial expressions) as the skin ages. Xeomin contains Botulinum toxin type A which acts on nerve endings in muscles. When injected into the muscles, it prevents muscle fibers from contracting, thus reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This injection is usually used for moderate to severe frown lines found between the eyebrows.
This treatment can be done in 15-20 minutes. No anesthesia is required, however a cold pack or topical anesthetic may be used on the injection site to reduce any discomfort. You can usually begin to see results within 3-4 days.
